We at Buzz are surprised. No fireworks. No champagne. No presser overflowing with Republican glee.

But then again, it did take the governor all eight years in office to accomplish elimination of the intangibles tax. From Gov. Jeb Bush's press release announcing Thursday afternoon that he had signed the bill:

"Today I signed HB 209 eliminating the last part of Florida’s insidious Intangibles Tax... It will save 300,000 taxpayers more than $131 million next year. It is a bad tax. Florida will no longer discourage its citizens from preparing for the future."
