It's put-up-or-shut-up time on health care
The Crist administration Wednesday released the long-awaited invitation to health insurers to offer low-cost packages to cover the nearly 4-million uninsured people in Florida. The offer, known as an ITN or invitation to negotiate, means that it's put-up-or-shut-up time for health care firms and medical networks to meet Crist's challenge. That was re-stated Wednesday to include a "robust" set of benefits, including office visits, screenings, outpatient and inpatient surgery, drugs and diabetic supplies and "designed to cost $150 per month or less."
Interested bidders have nine days, until July 11, to file written inquiries about any aspect of the proposal. Deadline to submit proposals: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. The ITN can be found at http://vbs.dms.state.fl.us/vbs/ad.view_ad?advertisement_key_num=72936.
