Jeb: Rick Scott and Alex Sink should give us the details
Jeb Bush appears at 7 p.m. tonight on John King USA on CNN. King is moderating (with me) Monday night's debate between Rick Scott and Alex Sink and asked the former governor what he'd like to see asked.
Said Bush: I think there's been a lot of throwing of mud back and forth about business dealings and personal activities and there hasn't been a lot of discussion specifically about the things that really matter that a governor can do. So I would ask, you know, give me the details of your plan to create jobs.
Give me the details of how we can train people that aren't qualified for the high wage jobs of the future. Give me the details of what you think the role of higher education is and how you're going to contain Medicare costs and how you're going to balance the budget. Those are the -- governors get to do practical things. And the election, up until now, has been a lot of -- about, you know, a lot of negative things and not trying to lift our spirits as a state. People are -- you know, there's a cloud over Florida right now, as it is over the country. So being specific about what you want to do, I think, will -- will be a good thing. And I think Rick Scott has got some specific proposals that will lift the cloud up off of Florida.
