Jon Huntsman closing down Fla HQ
Abandoning his strategy of focusing on Florida, South Carolina and Nevada, Jon Huntsman is closing his Orlando campaign headquarters, laying off staff, and moving the operation to New Hampshire. He was pretty much invisible in Florida anyway, except for Mrs. Huntsman, an Orlando native, occasionally speeches where she named Florida cities she liked.
"As evidenced by recent polling Jon Huntsman's support with New Hampshire voters continues to grow every day and this move will ensure that we have the resources necessary to win the First in the Nation primary. Success in New Hampshire is vital for our campaign to have the momentum we need to succeed in South Carolina, Florida, and the states that follow," campaign manager Matt David said.
The campaign will have an office at the Biltmore in Miami to staff fundraiser Ann Herberger, and advisers Jeb Bush Jr. and Ana Navarro. Still on the payroll are advisers David Johnson and Marc Reichelderfer. State director Nikki Lowery won't stay on board, but the campaign said that was planned anyway as she has a baby due soon.
