LaHood says states lining up for Florida's rail money
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said today that he's gotten a half dozen letters from governors or senators who want the $2.4 billion that Gov. Rick Scott wants to turn down. He touted the number of states that have already taken money.
"America is ready for high-speed inter-city rail," LaHood said in a speech to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. "And the fact that 35 states have accepted the money is proof of it." The clip comes at 6:17 into his speech.
