Laura Stepping Out
Laura Gallagher, who cut her political teeth over the past 18 months campaigning for her husband's unsuccessful bid for governor, is taking on a campaign on her own: The bid to put an anti-gay marriage amendment in the Florida Constitution.
Florida4Marriage.Org was set to formally announce Gallagher's new role as its spokesperson this morning in Tallahassee.
It's not much surprise. The Gallaghers have both been avid supporters of the measure and the group's leader, John Stemberger, was always one of Laura Gallagher's biggest fans as he worked to elect Tom Gallagher to office. As he said in May: "Tom has a campaign strategy that will bring him to victory, and that is Laura Gallagher. It's one thing to say that you're pro-life and pro-family and pro-marriage, but it's another thing to be pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-family and to have the life experience to back it up."
