LeMieux earned big with law firm in 2009



George LeMieux earned $755,000 from Gunster Yoakley & Stewart in 2009 before being appointed to the U.S. Senate in September, new disclosure forms show. LeMieux also earned $30,000 through his consulting firm.

Florida's senior senator, Democrat Bill Nelson, earned $39,587 in retirement from the state of Florida in 2009 as well as his $174,000 federal government salary, which is the same as LeMieux earns.

LeMieux is heavily invested, holding IRAs and stock in companies such as Apple, FPL Group, Target, Kraft Foods, Philip Morris and Energy Select, a portfolio of oil and gas companies. In one SunTrust cash account, he holds between $500,001 and $1 million. He owns undeveloped land in Tallahassee. His report is here.
