Lisa Greer: The political establishment will answer for their lies

Lisa Greer, the wife of former Florida Republican Party boss Jim Greer, was none too pleased at our attempt to spin forward the Casey Anthony verdict on Tuesday by pointing out one of Anthony's attorneys is also defending Greer against criminal charges.

But Mrs. Greer also makes a few interesting points about her husband's upcoming trial.

Here's her e-mail:

Mr. Bender:

I have read your recent story in which you indicated my husband must be smiling due to our attorney Cheney Mason winning the Casey Anthony case.  A little girl lost her life and this saddens Jim and I greatly. To imply that the outcome of this case has anything to do with Jim's is in poor taste.  We have always had the utmost confidence in Cheney Mason's abilities as he is widely regarded as a top criminal defense attorney and those that recommended Cheney to my husband indicated that he was the attorney for us to make Jim's innonence known. Mr. Mason and many other attorney's have told my husband that the case brought against him has no merit, should never have been brought forth and was simply a witch hunt to placate the grassroots activists who despised by husband for his unwavering support of Charlie Crist.

To those who used the judicial system to retaliate against Jim due to his moderate approach, his support of minorities and his refusal to cover up for the misdeeds of others, the truth will ultimately come out and those elected officials, lobbyists, attorneys and consultants who organized this conspiracy against my husband will answer for their lies in the very near future through the criminal and then the civil judicial process and other means.

While we congratulate Cheney Mason on this victory, we look forward to movement on our case and our own day of vindication that we are absolutely confident will come to pass with Cheney Mason and the rest of our legal team.

Thank You,

Lisa Greer
