Marco Rubio launching TV ads across Florida

It's a "significant" Fox News buy hitting all major media markets in Florida. Why so early? "First is to let voters get to know who Marco is, what he believes and why he's running,'' said Rubio adviser Todd Harris. "And the second goal is to be the first campaign out of the gate to establish what the race is about. Marco Rubio believes the race is about bringing conservative leadership to Washington to take on President Obama and Congressional liberals. As we've seen over the last several days, Charlie Crist thinks this race is about attacking Marco Rubio and climbing the political ladder. The third goal is to introduce Marco to voters before the Charlie Crist false attack-ad machine gets up and running."

Crist campaign communications director Andrea Saul: “As the truth begins to surface about Speaker Rubio’s double billing of taxpayers, lavish spending of Republican money, and, just today, excessive pork spending, no ad will be able to stop voters from seeing he is not who he claims to be. A Miami lobbyist, Speaker Rubio has proved he is just another typical politician who uses his public office for personal gain and only comes clean once caught. Floridians deserve a true steward of their hard-earned taxpayer dollars and a public servant who does the right thing, even when no one is looking.”
