Google news alerts are a great way to keep up with the notable figures in Florida politics and,  by extension, to assess their name recognition. So this can't be a good trend for outgoing House Speaker Marco Rubio ...

We're still getting alerts, but they are for another Marco Rubio -- a 27-year-old boxer from Mexico who is climbing the middleweight ranks. He won a bout in Reading, Pa., on Friday night and is a step closer to a title fight.

Florida's Rubio may be fading from the spotlight (expect to see him run for state Senate in 2010) but at least he hasn't been embarrassed like this:
