Max Linn quits CD 10 race
From the campaign: "Today Max Linn announced his intention to suspend his candidacy for Congress in Florida's 10th District. Max feels strongly that the best action he can take for the people of this community is to throw his full support and energy behind Sen. Barack Obama. With an impact much greater than one additional Democratic Congressman, President Obama will be in a position to deliver on issues like health care, ending the war in Iraq and providing greater security to homeowners here in Florida."
Max issued the following statement: "Bill Young's days in office are numbered and I hope we have a strong nominee here in the 10th District, whether it's Samm Simpson or (Dunedin) Mayor (Bob) Hackworth. I look forward to working with either of them as they strive to defeat Bill Young in November. Some people run for public office for their own advancement, but my goal has always been to do what best serves the community we all share. That's why I am dedicated to doing everything in my power to ensure that Florida is a blue state and Senator Barack Obama is our next president."
