McCain up by 1 in poll
A new Mason-Dixon Polling & Research poll shows McCain leading Obama 46-45 percent, within the margin of error of the poll (4 percentage points), according to the phone survey, which was in the field Oct. 20 and 21, says the Orlando Sentinel (which buys Mason-Dixon polls).
In a Mason-Dixon poll earlier this month, Obama held a 48-46 percent lead -- still within the poll's margin of error, they report.
"We’re outspent, outstaffed, outregistered and outadvertised in Florida, but it looks like Florida voters see through the Obama hype and embrace the McCain-Palin message of keeping more tax dollars in our pockets instead of spreading the wealth around," said Republican Party of Florida spokeswoman Erin VanSickle. "This is the second of two recent polls showing McCain ahead in Florida."
