McCain slams Obama as 'celeb' in new TV ad
Barack Obama, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton?
The McCain campaign is out with another TV ad that prods Obama as "the biggest celebrity in the world" -- a reference to the overwhelming reception he got in Europe -- but suggests he does not have the substance of a leader. The ad, which can be seen on cable in Florida, again blasts Obama for not supporting offshore oil drilling and misleadingly ties that to higher gas prices.
It is a sign of an increasingly aggressive McCain that has some GOP observers worried. "[B]eing aggressive against Obama on questions of leadership and trust and risk are important, but at the same time I think they need to be very careful because McCain is not at his best when he is being overly partisan and negative," strategist (and familiar face in Florida) Todd Harris told the New York Times in a story published today.
