McCain zips through 'Glades
Back on land, Sen. John McCain is touting his environmental record and taking on criticism of his opposition to a $23-billion water bill in 2007 that included money to clean up the Everglades. He said the bill was stuffed with dubious projects, naming a nature center and a few other examples.
"The fact is this is the way we work in Washington. We take a worthy project and we load it up with pork barrel and unnecessary projects," he said, Gov. Charlie Crist and U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart at his sides.
