A Medicare grab-bag
Democrats today released a web video featuring "testimonials" from voters, including one from Tampa Bay Rep. Gus Bilirakis' district.
Meantime, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson on Friday joined several other Democratic lawmakers in writing a letter to Vice President Joe Biden, overseeing budget talks, asking that he exclude the House plan to overhaul Medicare. The plan is politically dead for now anyway, but Nelson and his co-signers looked to establish their positions as they head into elections next year. "We encourage you to remain unwavering in opposition to this scheme. For the good of the nation’s seniors, it must remain off the table."
Voters in South Florida are getting mailers from U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, and soon, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, that likens the House Medicare plan to a "coupon."
