Mica, Murphy add to redistricting machinations
The latest in Florida's redistricting scramble ...
Longtime U.S. Rep. John Mica is considering leaving his seat (FL-7) and running for a newly created district, adding a potential whopper to the redistricting mix. If Mica follows through, he could face off against freshman Rep. Sandy Adams (FL-24) who has already announced her intentions to run for the seat.
Meantime, Democratic candidate Patrick Erin Murphy announced he's going to challenge Rep. Allen West (FL-22) in the newly proposed 18th congressional district, which includes Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties. "Allen West can run, but he can't hide,'' Murphy blogged in announcing his decision to pursue West.
