sp_335919_borc_rays_3.jpgRepublican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney took a break from a two-day Florida fundraising blitz to take in Wednesday's Tampa Bay Rays game versus the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field. Dressed in a button-down shirt, Romney sat behind the Rays dugout but said he was rooting for Boston, like his sons, who are "Red Sox fans true blue." Romney also was surprised to learn that the Rays played indoors. "It's cool -- I had no idea," he told the Times' Joe Smith. "I thought I was going to be in sweltering heat, but instead it's cool." Romney was in St. Petersburg Wednesday for a fundraiser hosted by former U.S. ambassador to Italy and Australia Mel Sembler, among others. He's scheduled to meet  with small business owners and job seekers at 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Buddy Brew on W. Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa. (Photo by James Borchuck)
