Mixing art, politics for Obama

Latest twist in Tampa on raising money for the presumed Democratic presidential nominee: Come see some art.

"Painting America Blue: It's Time to Get a Democrat Back in the White House" is this Sunday at Channelside, sponsored by ART  of Politics. Costs are $50 per person, $75 for a couple.

Co-chairs: Rep. Kathy Castor and Tampa City Council member Mary Mulhen. Participating artists include Rocky Bridges, Dolores Coe, Neverne Covington, Denis Gaston, Bruce Marsh and Theo Wujcik. Performers include: Ronny Elliott, Bunko Squad, Judy Tampa and others. Other notable hosts include: Tim and Donna Main (he's the CEO of Jabil Circuit, and they had a fundraiser for Obama at their house on Brightwaters); Phyllis Busansky; and Ken Rollins and Andy Maass, current and former heads of the Tampa Museum of Art.
