Navarro joining Biden campaign
We haven't heard confirmation from the man himself. But the Buzz we keep hearing today is that Luis Navarro, the veteran Democratic organizer Bill Nelson recruited to be executive director of the state Democratic party, is about to leave Florida to help Joe Biden run for president. The party's throwing a little going away thing tonight.
UPDATE (Nothing like a Buzz post to get a call back): "I don't look at it as leaving Florida. I look at it as making sure we win in 2008,'' Navarro said, confirming he'll be Biden's campaign manager. "While I think we're blessed with a strong field of Democratic candidates, I truly believe the number one issue for voters is going to be Iraq, and they're looking for a seasoned leader with strong security credentials."
Navarro said state Democratic chairwoman Karen Thurman will name a successor soon, and "it will be a seamless transition."
