Nelson, LeMieux press SunRail
Their planned visit to Tallahassee was scratched due to the health care debate, but U.S. Sens. Bill Nelson and George LeMieux today sent a letter to legislative leaders urging passage of the rail bill.
"If Florida does not provide a dedicated funding source for existing and future rail projects, the prospects for receiving high speed rail funding diminish greatly," the pair wrote to House Speaker Larry Cretul, Senate President Jeff Atwater and Gov. Charlie Crist.
Florida is seeking $2.5 billion in stimulus for high speed rail.
