Republican attorney general candidate Joe Negron's latest fundraising quarters appears to illustrate how quickly a powerful legislator's popularity can dim once a session ends. He reports raising $48,144 in the last three months, by far his worst period to date. He still has $1.16-million on hand.
Meanwhile, Republican frontrunner Bill McCollum raised $426,000 in the quarter and has $662,000 on hand. Republican Everett Rice raised just $13,305 and has $141,283 all told.
Democratic candidate Walter "Skip" Campbell more than $238,000 and has $617,500 on hand.
