A new contender emerges for GOP U.S. Senate race?

The chatter and speculation has barely let up that a stronger, surprise, self-funding candidate may yet emerge in Florida's U.S. Senate race. Now The Fix is offering up one possibility.

Former Ruth's Chris Steakhouse CEO Craig Miller is considering joining the GOP Senate primary in Florida. Miller finished third in a close congressional primary against now-Rep. Sandy Adams (R-Fla.) last year and is looking at joining the crowded GOP field running against Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.). “I’ve talked to advisers and the people that have helped me over the last 18 months about this, and I need to make a decision within the next few weeks," Miller told The Fix. Miller has personal wealth; he spent about $560,000 of his own money on the congressional primary.

A third place finisher in a U.S. House race, though, is unlikely to leave Haridopolos, LeMieux or Hasner quaking.
