A new Florida GOP communications director

Say hi to  Dan Conston, who starts today as the new communications director for the Republican Party of Florida. He most recently served as communications director for Jerry Moran’s U.S. Senate campaign in Kansas and before that was communications director for Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill. In 2008, he worked in the national press offices of the Fred Thompson campaign and the McCain-Palin campaign.

Katie Gordon is jumping from the RPOF to the House Speaker's office, working for Dean Cannon.

"The responsibility to speak on behalf of our Party has truly been a great honor, and I am tremendously grateful to Chairman Thrasher, the whole RPOF Team and the numerous candidates and campaigns we have worked with for the wonderful opportunities I have been provided during my nearly three years with the Party,'' Gordon said in an e-mail. "Chairman Thrasher stepped up to lead the Party during a difficult time, and I am privileged to have been a part of the RPOF Team under his great leadership.

"During my time at the RPOF, I have gotten to know Speaker-Designate Cannon and believe he is a principled public servant who will lead the Florida House with conviction and commitment."

And because we like Katie we won't mention how she spent at least a year touting the conviction, commitment, and all-around greatness of Charlie Crist and Jim Greer, who she now describes as the embodiment of evil.
