New Obama Florida ad links Romney to overseas jobs
A new Obama campaign today ad attacks Mitt Romney over job outsourcing The ad is based on Washington Post story that the Romney campaign vehemently fought but did not win a retraction. Factcheck.org says the claims were mostly bunk and the Obama campaign reacted with the same vigor as Romney had.
Bottom line, the new ad stretches things because the Post article does not say jobs were shipped overseas while Romney was in control at Bain Capital. The ad leaves that impression.
"The Obama campaign continues to try to mislead voters with ads that independent fact checkers have repeatedly proven to be false," says Romney Florida spokesman Jeff Bechdel. "We are happy to put Governor Romney's record of job creation in the private sector, and as governor, up against President Obama's any day. Spending millions of dollars on untrue ads won't change the fact that President Obama's policies have left more than 23 million Americans struggling for work."
The ad, called "Believes," is airing in Florida Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
