The name of Bob Graham surfaces in a new hard-hitting ad in the governor's race in, of all places, Massachusetts.

The spot, by Republican candidate Kerry Healey, attacks Democratic opponent Deval Patrick for his efforts as a privcate lawyer to get a Florida cop-killer's death sentence overturned. In the spot, a narrator says " ... liberal Democratic Governor Bob Graham signs death sentence."

Graham was governor in 1980 and signed the death warrant for Carl Ray Songer, who killed a Florida Highway patrolman in 1983. Healey's ad closes with this: "While lawyers have a right to defend admitted cop killers, do we really want one as governor?"
