Next up in New Port Richey, Sarah Palin?

Those Sims Park barricades that New Port Richey put up for Monday’s rally  by Joe Biden can stay up a little longer. Sarah Palin is planning a rally for Saturday morning at the park.

City Manager Tom O’Neill had two meetings Wednesday with campaign officials interested in bringing the running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain to the riverfront park. “It’s a possibility,” said O’Neill. “It’s not a definite thing.”

Campaign officials are also scouting other locations, he said. And Palin may have a little competition: Calvary Chapel Worship Center has already received city permits to host a fall festival at Sims on Saturday.

O’Neill said Palin’s people are talking with the church to see if they can coordinate the two events.
