The timing could not be better for Jim Davis. As word of Charlie Crist's trouble with Florida geography makes the rounds, Davis lands in the Panhandle.

Here's what he had to say moments ago from a Panama City airfield.

"I have always regarded Pensacola as part of Florida, always will be. I intend to be a governor for Pensacola, the Panhandle and the rest of the state. Charlie Crist may have written folks off up here, but I will not.

UPDATE: After speaking to about 125 people at a park in downtown Panama City, Davis is now headed to Pensacola.
