Obama team touts health care law for Fla

From the Barack Obama campaign: From seniors whose Medicare is now stronger, to women who today can get life-saving mammograms at no extra cost, to children who will no longer lose their coverage because they were born with pre-existing conditions, American families are seeing how reform is saving lives and saving money.  In Florida, millions of folks have been helped.  Yet Republicans on the campaign trail and in Washington, DC are pledging to repeal the law and undo the progress that has been made for Floridians in the last two years.

“The health care reform law is making a difference for Floridians today, and it will only get better in the future.  Over 4.6 million Floridians now have access to free preventive care,” said Congressman Ted Deutch. “Before the passage of the Affordable Care Act, each year over 20,000 seniors in Florida's 19th district alone fell into the Medicare doughnut hole and were saddled with outrageous prescription drug bills. For the retirees I represent, health care reform has meant free preventative care and the financial security that comes with knowing they can afford the medicines prescribed by their doctors."
