Obama's Ybor digs
Barack Obama's Florida campaign has eighty-sixed plans to move its state headquarters into a vacant restaurant in Centro Ybor. U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, had spread the word in June that Obama's Florida HQ would be in space once occupied by the Big City Tavern. Instead, the campaign is setting up shop in an office building elsewhere in Ybor City. Campaign spokeswoman Adora Andy said a grand opening will be scheduled soon, and field offices will open throughout Florida in the coming weeks.
