One man, $1 million. Sheldon Adelson money lands in pro-Connie Mack PAC
It's official: Casino boss Sheldon Adelson has delivered on promises to give $1 million to a super PAC supporting Connie Mack. Sunlight Foundation reports that the donation to Freedom PAC showed up in FEC records.
Besides Adelson's contribution, the PAC took in $91,000, including $5,000 from Contran CEO Harold Simmons, who's also donated millions of dollars to right-leaning super PACs. The political group has yet to air any attack ads, but has spent $5,000 producing a spot featuring former Florida governor Jeb Bush endorsing Mack, according to filings.
Freedom PAC has also spent $5,000 on legal services from Brace well & Giuliani, the law firm that employs former New York mayor and one-time presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.
