Play ball: Crist throws out first pitch

Cristtoss Gov. Charlie Crist threw out the first pitch at tonight's Rays-Red Sox game in St. Pete.

Despite earlier fears, he made it over the plate without a bounce in the dirt. "It's a challenge, you know," he told reporters before walking onto the mound.

"This is going to be a great night, it'll be a great game. I predict they're going to win it tonight and I couldn't be more proud of Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg than I am right now."

A reporter noted, "You're on national TV tonight. You can't bounce it up to the plate. Have you been practicing?"

"I have practiced a little bit but I'm going to go practice a little bit more," Crist replied.

Before walking into Gate 4 of the Trop, where he'll watch the game from a suite, Crist added, "Let's go Rays, let's win this thing and take it to the World Series."
