Poll: Alex Sink trails Rick Scott by 5, Bill McCollum by 2

Rasmussen robo poll (MoE +/- 4.5%): Republican newcomer Rick Scott now runs stronger against likely Democratic nominee Alex Sink than longtime GOP frontrunner Bill McCollum in Florida’s race for governor. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida shows Scott earning 45% of the vote versus Sink’s 40% support. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and 12% remain undecided.

A month ago, in the first survey to include Scott, he picked up 41% to Sink’s 40%.

McCollum’s support continues to fall. He now is in a virtual tie with Sink, leading her 40% to 38%. Eight percent (8%) favor another candidate, and 14% are undecided.  Last month, McCollum had a 43% to 35% lead over the Democrat.

...Seventy-four percent (74%) of Florida voters say the probe of the state party’s finances is at least somewhat important to how they will vote, with 47% who say it is Very Important. But it’s important to note that only half the voters in the state say they are following news reports about the arrest of the former state GOP party head even somewhat closely.
