We confess we don't have these new Mason-Dixon numbers confirmed yet (the Times doesn't subscribe to Mason-Dixon), but we're hearing that in the governor's race, M-D has Charlie Crist leading Tom Gallagher 55-24 among likely GOP voters; and among likely Democratic voters Jim Davis leading Rod Smith 29-14. Since March Crist's lead in M-D has jumped from 16 to 31, while Davis' lead dropped from 19 to 15. A whopping 57 percent of Democrats are still undecided, while 21 percent of Republicans are undecided.
Meanwhile Crist's onetime boss, former U.S. Sen. Connie Mack, endorsed Crist on his 50th birthday: “I am proud of the leader Charlie has become. He is carrying on the torch of true conservative values, fighting for less taxes and more freedom. He is the kind of leader Florida needs to continue the great work of Governor Jeb Bush.”
