Poll: voters pessimistic about tax plans
From the new Quinnipiac poll out today: "More than two in three Florida voters define a "significant" property tax cut, which lawmakers say they want to deliver, to be $500 or more for the average homeowner, and 39 percent define it as $1,000 or more. But only 25 percent of Floridians think they will get a "significant" reduction in property taxes during Crist's tenure. "
And: "Florida voters support 74 - 16 doubling the homestead exemption, the existing "Save Our Homes" tax break, and support 57 - 28 percent making it portable, where the exemption applies when they buy a new house. But they split 46 - 44 percent about giving first-time homebuyers a tax break."
