Privatizing prison health care system rates a 'Promise Kept' for Gov. Rick Scott, PolitiFact finds
Gov. Rick Scott's plan to reduce the size, scope and expense of state government included a campaign promise to privatize health care provided by the state's 100,000-inmate prison system. "Competitively bidding health care contracts" for Florida's prison population would reduce government costs, Scott said.
