Protester in tree disrupts inauguration
Hours before President Barack Obama was sworn in for a second term, a lone protester was causing a ruckus.
The man had climbed a tree and was shouting as he held a sign that said, "Pray to end abortion." He implored the crowd, already sizable around 8 a.m., to "raise your voice like a trumpet."
Police quickly surrounded the tree to get him down, but apparently when they climbed ladders to reach him, he climbed even higher. Afraid for the safety of the hundreds of people beneath the tree, police opted to leave him be. So during the quietest moments of the inauguration, the invocation, the bendiction, the loud protester's voice rung out.
