Rep. Castor favors 'fresh start' over Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi's name was invoked in congressional races all over the country (in Sarasota a few days before the election, hundreds of people attending a rally were given "Fire Pelosi" stickers) and Republican voters turned out in droves to strip control of the House from Democrats.
Despite the beating, Pelosi wants to remain in command. That's caused discomfort among some Democrats, including Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa. "I was surprised the speaker wanted to return as minority leader," Castor told the Buzz in an e-mail. "I would have been in favor of a fresh start."
We have not yet heard from other members of Florida's congressional delegation. The House reconvenes Monday for the lame duck session.
