Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz rips McCollum's lawsuit
U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Florida's leading Democrat in the House, ripped into Attorney General Bill McCollum's lawsuit against the health care legislation.
"It's no coincidence that the attorney general also happens to be running for governor," she said, calling it "pure politics" and a "stunt" and "a waste of taxpayers' money" and "grasping at straws" and "yet another case of misinformation."
Her comments came on a conference call arranged by the Democratic Party.
McCollum campaign spokeswoman Kristy Campbell: "It is clear the Democrats' have gone into panic-stricken overdrive trying to defend their unconstitutional health care reform plan ... In November, Alex Sink, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other Florida Democrats will have to answer to Florida voters for their support of this disastrous initiative."
