Republican Party targets St. Petersburg Democrat Bill Heller

The Republican Party of Florida didn't waste time targeting state Rep. Bill Heller, a St. Petersburg Democrat.

The party paid for a 30-second television advertisement called "Stopwatch" for Jeff Brandes' campaign against Heller in District 52. ("Jeff Brandes. He’s putting government on our clock.")

Brandes entered the race at the last minute after the first Republican, Connie Deneault, dropped out. It's the first advertisement in a state legislative race this campaign season and comes just days after election qualifying ended.
