Richard Corcoran wants on Pasco School Board
Richard Corcoran, who had a brief stint as chief of staff to House Speaker Marco Rubio, is trying to get on the Pasco County School Board.
He submitted an application this week with the governor's office for an expected vacancy. (Sen. Mike Fasano and state Reps. John Legg and Will Weatherford have put pressure on Cathi Marti to resign due to persistent absences. Background here.)
Corcoran, who grew up in Pasco and now does legal work for the sheriff's office there, is one of six people who want to be appointed by Crist, and he has some influential players in his corner (hint: see above). Click here to read Corcoran's case for the job.
Corcoran has also shown interest in the state House seat being vacated by Tom Anderson, R-Dunedin.
