Rick Scott to court and Cabinet: Get a car

Republican Gov. Rick Scott said he'll pay his own way to use his own jet as he flies around the state, while Florida Cabinet members and state Supreme Court justices can find other modes of transportation with the state planes up for sale.

"They can drive or fly," Scott said during a press gaggle outside Million Air, a Tallahassee general aviation terminal where his seven-seat Raytheon 400A twin engine jet flew out of this morning with the new governor, his director of press relations, Brian Burgess, and his transition director, Enu Mainigi. The three are meeting informal education adviser Michelle Rhee in at a Miami charter school.

Scott today also refused to name a single egregious or unnecessary regulation worth freezing. Scott signed an executive order Tuesday that halts all new regulations.

"What I focused on is making sure we stopped the process, we froze regulation," Scott said. "And then where we have time to review all the things that were going on out there, the goal is to get the state back to work."
