Rick Scott inauguration includes 'candle light dinner' for donors

images.jpgTeam Scott just launched the inaugural web site we told you about Wednesday. For your convenience, below is the schedule of events on January 3-4. The run-up to the inauguration will also include a series of events around the state that will be announced in the coming weeks. 

January 3, 2011

Salute to Women in Leadership Breakfast 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m; Florida State University Alumni Hall, Grand Ballroom; 1030 West Tennessee Street (Ticketed Event) The 2011 Inauguration will mark the historic election of Jennifer Carroll as Florida’s next Lieutenant Governor. The Salute to Women in Leadership Breakfast will honor the contributions of many great Florida women including, Pam Bondi, our state’s first woman elected to serve as Attorney General.

A Tribute to the First Lady: Honoring Ann Scott, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, 350 South Duval Street (Ticketed Event). She has been the woman proudly standing next to Rick Scott for 38 years and Florida’s next First Lady.

Military Appreciation: Honoring Those Who Serve, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. North Florida Fairgrounds, 441 Paul Russell Road (Free and open to Military Families with ID & Special Guests) The heroes protecting and defending our nation at home and around the world are the heart of Florida and a shining example for us all. The Military Appreciation: Honoring Those Who Serve will be a celebration of those who serve, their families and our veterans.

Forging a Path to Prosperity Reception, 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Goodwood Museum and Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road (Ticketed Event) Florida is open for business! Floridians have plenty to celebrate with the inauguration of our new governor including the implementation of an aggressive jobs plan and a new focus on revitalizing the state’s economy. The Forging a Path to Prosperity Reception will bring together business leaders from across the state who stand ready to turn Florida’s economy around.

Celebrating Florida’s Future Youth Concert 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Leon County Civic Center Arena 505 West Pensacola Street (Free and Open to Florida’s Youth) The Celebrating Florida’s Future Youth Concert will bring together young people from across the state for an evening of fun and entertainment.

Friends of the Inaugural Candle Light Dinner 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mission San Luis 2100 West Tennessee Street (Ticketed Event) The Inaugural Committee is proud to host a tremendous series of events in celebration of this important moment in Florida’s history, many of them free and open to the public. The Friends of the Inaugural Candle Light Dinner is an evening of appreciation for those whose generosity are making the events of the 2011 Inauguration of our 45th Governor possible.

January 4, 2011

Inaugural Prayer Breakfast 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Florida A&M University Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center 1800 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307 (Ticketed Event) The tradition of kicking off the day with the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast continues. Floridians of many faiths will mark this special day with a two hour celebration of faith and continued blessings.

Swearing-In Ceremony 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Old Capitol 400 South Monroe Street (Free and Open to the Public) The peaceful transition of power is an inspiring symbol of our state’s greatness. The 2011 Inaugural Committee looks forward to The Swearing-In Ceremony of Florida’s 45th Governor.

The Governor’s Let’s Get to Work Leadership Luncheon 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Capitol, 22nd Floor 400 South Monroe Street (Ticketed Event) Governor Elect Rick Scott believes strongly that the opportunities to turn Florida’s economy around must be addressed as priority number one. The Governor’s Let’s Get to Work Leadership Luncheon will bring the branches of government together, as they are the leaders who will forge Florida’s path to prosperity.

Inaugural Parade 2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monroe Street (Free and Open to the Public) The Inaugural Parade will honor our state’s greatest resource: Floridians. People from across the state, representing each county, will participate in this time-honored tradition beginning at the Governor’s Mansion and concluding just beyond the Old Capitol.

Governor’s Mansion Open House 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Governor’s Mansion 700 North Adams Street (Free and Open to the Public) The first family looks forward to opening the doors to their new home and welcoming Floridians from across the state to The Governor’s Mansion Open House.

Celebrating Florida’s 45th Governor Inaugural Ball 7:00 p.m. Leon County Civic Center 505 West Pensacola Street (Ticketed Event) The tradition of honoring our newly elected leaders with an evening of dancing and music continues with the Celebrating Florida’s 45th Governor Inaugural Ball. The new Governor and First Lady look forward to celebrating with Floridians from across the state.
