Rick Scott plans to jump-start transition
Rick Scott, who made "let's get to work" the signature of his successful campaign, is anxious to start the nine-week transition from candidate to governor, but he decided to wait until Democrat Alex Sink conceded defeat.
Scott plans to hold a news conference at noon at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina hotel. The Scott transition will be headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, not Tallahassee, and Scott will create a transition advisory board comprised of familiar names to help guide him through the process. The board will include legislators, business leaders and advisers to former Gov. Jeb Bush.
Scott and his advisers have also begun preliminary discussions about an inauguration celebration.
