Rick Scott says households will get $540 in tax savings under his plan. Well, maybe his household
Folks in Tallahassee have probably seen this chart several times this week as part of the roll out of Gov. Rick Scott's budget. Scott budget chief Jerry McDaniel just showed it again during a Thursday afternoon House budget committee meeting. The chart says that Scott's tax and fee reductions will save "households" $540 over two years.
But PolitiFact Florida finds the number to be largely inaccurate -- because more than half of the cuts only impact businesses. So Scott's household might see $540 over two years, but most Floridians won't.
