The Republican National Convention continues to staff up, hiring another convention veteran, Thomas Maxwell of Bridgeport, Conn., as its director of financial services and administration.

Maxwell is the principal of MAXimum Compliance, a campaign finance consulting firm and served as deputy director for financial services for the 2008 Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn. Before that, the Southern Methodist University graduate was the Federal Election Commission director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee and a reports analyst at the FEC.

The convention has received nearly $18 million in federal funds to help stage the convention. In addition, the Tampa Bay Host Committee, a nonprofit, nonpartisan local group, is working to raise $55 million to help host the event and to promote Tampa Bay.
