Rod's sugar daddy



New campaign reports show the immense level of help the Rod Smith campaign has had trying to beat Jim Davis for the gubernatorial nomination: more than $4-million flowed into the sugar-backed political groups, the Coalition for Justice and Equality and Florida’s Working Families, campaign to pump up Smith.

“Without Big Sugar, Smith’s campaign would barely be able to keep the lights on, let alone conduct a large-scale statewide campaign for governor,” said Davis Communications Director Josh Earnest.  “Florida Democrats deserve better than a candidate for governor like Rod Smith who has been bought and paid for by special interests.  If Smith wins this election, he’ll owe Big Sugar, big time.”
