Romney campaign says it was 'error' to block reporters from candidate in St. Pete
Reporters covering Mitt Romney this morning in St. Petersburg were blocked by campaign staffers from asking questions while Romney worked the "rope line" after his remarks. Among the topics of the day, Democrats' attacks on Romney's tenure at Bain Capital.
"Romney campaign aide trying to block reporters from rope line now. Reporters refuse to leave," tweeted New York Times reporter Michael Barbaro. (he expands in this blog)
"This was an error on the part of the campaign staff and volunteers," spokesman Andrea Saul said in a statement to the Buzz. "We have reminded them that press is allowed on the rope line to record the governor’s interactions with voters."
