Romney drops fliers in Florida attacking Perry on Social Security
Mitt Romney's campaign is dropping fliers in areas of Florida where Rick Perry will visit, thinking Perry's Social Security comments make him vulnerable with the state's older voters.
"Two candidates," the front reads. "Only one will protect what's important to you." The back side says Perry is "reckless and wrong on Social Security." (see the jump)
Perry has a number of fundraisers in Florida lined up this week and next and will appear at Presidency 5 / CPAC in Orlando.
Romney has said that he wants to protect Social Security but has drawn scrutiny as well. Democrats are quick to note that he has favored privatization and the other day, the Wall Street Journal criticized him for being too cautious. "If Mr. Romney rides to the nomination by sounding like President Obama on Social Security, he will make any reform he would eventually need to attempt that much harder to accomplish."
