Romney quietly works to build 'impressive' Florida network
Mitt Romney met with about 15 undecided Florida House and Senate members Thursday afternoon in Orlando, and arranged for a group of politicos to fly to Miami on Wednesday.
"We brought them in and let them meet with the governor," state Sen. John Thrasher said, declining to identify anyone. "We're trying to look ahead in a couple weeks and do some roll out of the team. It's going to be pretty impressive."'
Thrasher denied it was an effort to earn support for Saturday's straw poll, which Romney officially is not participating in. "Our purpose, really, is to have our resources ready for the primary."
