RPOF: Where was Jim?
From the RPOF today: "Congress had a busy day yesterday, voting on measures from the “Private Property Rights Implementation Act of 2006” to the “Child Custody Protection Act.” Perhaps most critical in the day’s business was the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2007, which appropriates funds for FY2007 for active-duty and reserve personnel in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, and for National Guard personnel in the Army and Air Force. Congressman Jim Davis missed these votes to campaign in Gainesville.
“In a time of war, shouldn’t Tampa Bay’s Congressman—who represents MacDill Air Force Base—care more about funding our nation’s armed forces than padding his campaign coffers?” said Jeff Sadosky, Communications Director for the Republican Party of Florida. “Davis says he only misses votes renaming post offices, but this seems to be an entirely different ballgame.”
